Play Therapy Services

Individual Therapy
I provide individual play therapy sessions in central Portobello tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. These sessions offer a safe space for children to explore their feelings, develop coping mechanisms, and build resilience. Children can choose from mediums such as art, music, role play, puppets, sand play and small world toys to express themselves in a way that suits them.

School-Based Therapy
I am an Edinburgh Council Approved Provider - schools can contact me via PCS-Tender or by email.
I can also offer private sessions in school dependent on location and school permission. I recognise that this approach is often more accessible for families, and provides the opportunity for more collaboration with school staff.

Parent Child Attachment Play (PCAP)
PCAP is a gentle, early intervention that empowers parents to support their child at home. It involves the parent and therapist meeting to learn and practice child-led play skills, and then the parent carrying out a short weekly play session at home with their child with ongoing communication and support from the therapist. PCAP can be a great way to strengthen relationships and improve regulation and coping skills (for the child and parent!) It can also be used as a transition into or out of Play Therapy.

Creative Therapeutic Life Story Work
Creative Therapeutic Life Story Work is a therapeutic process to help adopted or looked after children understand their life story. The therapist, parent/carer and child work together in a weekly session in a safe, structured process to help support the child's understanding of their experiences and their developing identity.
I am currently training in CTLSW - please feel free to inquire for more information.
"Play Therapy is an opportunity which is given to the child to 'play out' their feelings and problems just as, in certain types of adult therapy, an individual 'talks out' their difficulties.""
